Amigurumi Crochet

What is it?

The extremely cute art of Amigurumi, is a Japanese art that involves creating incredibly adorable little creatures and objects by kitting or crocheting them!

Typically the objects are animals, but they can also be everyday objects (like in the picture below) that have specially cute human-like features e.g eyes or rosy cheeks!

The crochet points are usually closed up and there are no gaps, they are very neatly made and are becoming more and more popular! But come on, who can resist them?

An Amigurimi crocheted mug with a little whip cream on top!

You can also find Amigurumi crochet rings and accessories!

Aww such cute little cupcakes!

Making The Jungle Bracelet!

Here is a pretty little companion for your beaded friendship bracelets! This bracelet is made from crochet and looks super cool when it is compete (and is a lot of fun to make).

What you need:

1. 3 different colours of wool.
2. Scissors.
3. A crochet needle.

How to make it:

1. Make a row of 30 crochet stitches.
2. Join them up to make a ring!
3. Keep re-stitching over the previous layers and change colour every two layers.

This is a picture of both the friendship bracelet and the jungle bracelet!

They are both absolutely gorgeous and go very well together!

The crochet stitches give the bracelet a very interesting texture!

Good luck! Have fun!

Making a really cute homemade friendship bracelet

You will need:

1.  Coloured string
2. Scissors
3. Coloured beads

Step-by-step instructions

1. Cut 3 long pieces different coloured yarn
2. Plait the 3 strings together.
3. Thread the strings through some of your beads.
4. Tie up the ends of the string, so that you have a cute little bracelet, try and make it so that it can loop around your wrist more than once!

Make sure you choose some colours that go well together

Try to keep your pieces of string roughly the same size

Make sure your plait is as even as possible

Choose beads that match your colour scheme

-There you go, hope your bracelets turn out to be really cute! This makes a really good present for your friends, and they will just love them!

A Very 'Sweet' Christmas card indeed!

This is a very christmassy card that I made from all the scraps I found around my art room. The secret is to fill as much of the card as possible with as colourful things as you can! The result is a very 'sweet' little card, that is perfect for all your Christmas needs!

Tips
1. Round off the corners of the card.
2. Punch holes in it and thread some string through it and tie a bow.
3.Have a theme. In this case the theme is hearts.
4.Use as varied colour as possible.
5.Have interesting shapes and textures
6.Add patterns to your card.
7.Write a sweet personal message inside!
